Originating from France from the 1800’s this chicken was named after the village it was founded in, Faverolles, a small town in the province of Eure-et-Loire.

About this Chicken

  1.  This chicken, along with many others, is a dual producer, for eggs and meat.
  2.  This chicken continues to lay eggs in the winter when most chickens have stopped.
  3.  The average amount of eggs per year for this fowl is 150 to 200!
  4.  It was used as a dual producer but is now raised for exhibition.
